Jabalpur: A trip to the land of Gondwana's

Jabalpur is called the land of the Gondwanas because in the 13th century, it was ruled by The Gonds. The period of the rule of Maharaja Sangramsahi is remembered as a golden era and it was during the reign of The Gonds that most waterbodies of the city - lakes, wells, reservoirs and so on - were built.

Some of the sights to see in this city are also telling of the beauty of the place during the rule of The Gonds. Besides the fantastic and almost unique marble rock formations along the banks of the River Narmada, these are some of the sights you can expect to see in:

1. Dhuandhar falls: Not far from the hustle and bustle of the city, these marvelous waterfalls can be seen. It’s amazing how the water of the Narmada passes the Marble rocks as it falls in a smoky waterfall.
